Argentina Expat
From niche site to Forbes, three times over
How a repeatable data-study engine took an expat resource into Forbes, Realtor.com, and Travel + Leisure.
Top placements

Argentina Expat is a resource site for English-speaking expats in Latin America, competing for trust against international-living publishers many times its size. A handful of data-study campaigns earned it 43 placements, including three separate Forbes features.
The challenge
In a niche market, authority is everything. Argentina Expat needed to prove it was the definitive source for expat life in Latin America, but it was up against established publishers with far stronger domain authority, and it had no newsroom, no PR team, and no name recognition outside its own audience.
The strategy
Instead of one-off pitches, we built a data-study engine: original indexes journalists could only get from Argentina Expat. Eight campaigns, including:
- The Latin America Safety Index, which put the site on the map: coverage in Bloomberg Línea (DR 74), Digital Journal (DR 87), and a link from the Buenos Aires Herald (DR 70), the most prestigious English-language newspaper in Argentina.
- The LATAM Overtourism Index, the biggest earner at 12 placements, including a Forbes feature (DR 94) plus Forbes Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Uruguay editions.
- The Latin America Expat Index, which landed Realtor.com twice (DR 91), Forbes, and Travel + Leisure twice (DR 89).
- “How Long Will $1M Last”, a retirement study that earned another Forbes feature and Travel + Leisure.
Each study was built with multiple angles, so one dataset could serve national outlets, regional press, and local newsrooms like the Coloradoan.
The results
- 43 placements: 21 links, 12 brand mentions, and 10 syndications.
- Median domain rating of 70 across links and mentions, with 10 of them at DR 80 or higher.
- Tier-1 coverage, repeatedly: Forbes three times (DR 94), Realtor.com three times (DR 91), Travel + Leisure twice (DR 89).
- The dream local placement: the Buenos Aires Herald, linking to the site as the data source.
- Built to compound: the studies rank in Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT answers, and kept attracting new links months after publication.
- Syndication reach: Yahoo and AOL carried the studies far beyond the original placements.
