Flywheel Studio
From invisible to BBC-featured in 90 days
How a multi-award-winning app agency turned reactive PR into BBC coverage and a 70,000% search surge.
Top placements

Agency of the Year awards don’t matter if your clients can’t find you. Flywheel Studio had the accolades, voted “Agency of the Year” in both 2024 and 2025 by FlutterFlow. Five reactive PR campaigns turned that unused reputation into 25 placements, a BBC feature, and a 70,000% surge in Google visibility, all within 90 days.
The challenge
Despite their elite status, Flywheel was virtually invisible for high-intent keywords like “FlutterFlow agency”. While they focused on building world-class apps, their competitors were aggressively optimizing for SEO and AI search, capturing the demand Flywheel deserved. They hired Punchy PR to close the gap and turn their reputation into rankings.
The strategy
Reactive PR: putting Flywheel’s expert take inside breaking tech news within hours, while journalists were still writing the story.
- The ChatGPT Atlas launch. When OpenAI released its browser, Flywheel’s analysis (it could cost Google $30.4 billion a year in search revenue) went global in days: a BBC feature (DR 93), Android Headlines, Dataconomy, pickup across four continents, and syndication through MSN, AOL, and Yahoo. One story, 18 placements.
- “AI-proof jobs.” Flywheel’s read on surging Google searches earned a link from Success Magazine (DR 80).
- The AI bubble debate. Their take on Sam Altman’s bailout comments landed a link from Cybernews (DR 86).
- The ChatGPT App Directory. Their revenue analysis earned Android Headlines (DR 77) and Technobezz.
Every story positioned Flywheel as the expert voice on the app economy, exactly what Google and AI search engines need to see to recommend an agency.
The results
- 25 placements from 5 reactive campaigns: 5 links, 14 brand mentions, and 6 syndications.
- Featured by the BBC (DR 93), the strongest trust signal in media.
- Median domain rating of 72 across links and mentions, topped by Cybernews (86) and Success Magazine (80).
- A 70,000% increase in search impressions: within 90 days Flywheel’s site was showing up in Google results 700 times more often than before the campaigns.
- Syndication reach: MSN, AOL, and Yahoo carried the stories to hundreds of millions of readers.
"Working with Punchy PR has been a great experience.
